Amigos de La Familia (ALF) is a Stateside organization of individuals committed to the love and support of the children at Casa Hogar La Familia, a children's home currently located in temporary quarters in Tehuacan in Central Mexico.
The purpose of ALF is to provide financial support and a cooperative effort along with the La Familia directors for the common purpose of enhancing the well being, spiritual and educational growth of the children of La Familia.
Most of the children at La Familia are not orphans. More typically they have been picked up off the streets by DIF (Defense for the Integration of the Family) a Mexican government agency or perhaps they come from such poor households that their parents simply cannot afford to care for them. Most have been abandoned by their parents.
PALMARITO CONSTRUCTION BEGAN MAY 25, 2008. The City of Palmarito has gifted two acres of land for construction of a new orphanage that has been designed to accommodate 92 orphaned and abandoned children of Mexico. Watch this page for updates!
Tuesday, August 12 was moving day!
La Familia is moving from Cd. Sercan to temporary housing in Tehuacan, a larger city about an hour away from Serdan, until the new building can be completed in Palmarito.

God bless Albert's memory. Over the years, Albert has been our largest fundraiser and tirelessly gave of his time for the support of the children of La Familia.
